About

Matteo Dominianni focuses on large-scale enterprise transformations and mergers and acquisitions (“M&A”), including operational due diligence, synergy assessments and post-merger integrations, as well as post-close value capture.

Mr. Dominianni has more than 15 years of management consulting, investment banking and industry experience in telecom, media and technology (“TMT”), with a particular focus on telecom, as well as other industries such as retail and consumer products and healthcare. He has deep expertise helping public companies and PE-backed portfolio companies in enterprise improvement projects, M&A transactions and carve-outs. Additionally, he has successfully led multiple transactions in the TMT sector and has driven value through large-scale transformation programs, cost take-outs and revenue uplift programs.

Mr. Dominianni has led numerous value-creation programs for PE portfolio companies and public companies in the telecom sector. He has experience leading post-close value creation assessments in the Wi-Fi networks, data centers, telecom and broadcasting towers subsectors. Additionally, Mr. Dominianni specializes in organizational transformation, sales and go-to-market (“GTM”) effectiveness, as well as back-office optimization.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Dominianni was at PwC Strategy& in the Deals: Rapid Value Delivery team and was focused on telecom and media. Preceding PwC, he spent six years at AlixPartners in the Enterprise Improvement: TMT group. Before management consulting, Mr. Dominianni spent five years in investment banking while working in M&A for Citigroup and Financo in New York. He began his career in Europe, where he worked for five years in corporate finance for two large telco operators, Liberty Global and Telecom Italia.

Mr. Dominianni holds an M.B.A. in finance and strategy from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, as well as an M.S. and a B.S. in telecommunication engineering from the University of Bologna.

Relevant Experience:

  • Performed buy-side diligence and synergy assessment for a $5 billion merger of two global telecom-media companies; led integration planning and post-deal value creation implementation across multiple workstreams in North America and the Europe, Middle East and Africa (“EMEA”) region

  • Identified $24 million of cost optimization initiatives for a $3 billion global e-commerce marketplace; supported planning and implementation phases, including sales and sales operations global organizational redesign, development of new GTM framework, establishment of shared service centers, vendor consolidation and facilities footprint rationalization

  • Stood up an Integration Management Office (“IMO”) for a $250 million PE-backed media-tech company to acquire a portfolio of companies from a large telco operator; subsequently stood up a Separation Management Office (“SMO”) to divest a portion of recently acquired business

  • Led operational diligence, synergy assessment and cost savings implementation for a $390 million telco distributor; led to $27 million in cost reduction across selling, general and administrative expenses (“SG&A”), warehouse, distribution and procurement

  • Designed a new capital planning process across 20 business units for a large telecom-media company; introduced a new finance system to request capital expenditures (“CapEx”) approvals to parent company, led negotiations and received final approval of subsidiary’s $500 million budget
