FTI Delta CSR Year in Review 2024
As the holiday season approaches and we reflect on our journey throughout 2024, we’d like to take a moment to highlight and recap our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility this year.
About our CSR employee group
The CSR employee group is built and sustained voluntarily by our people, serving as a platform to come together and actively contribute to addressing global challenges that resonate most with our team. The team operates globally with dedicated colleagues in each local office, empowered to drive their own initiatives and tailoring activities to align with their unique interests and community needs. This approach builds a strong sense of community while giving employees the chance to manage local partnerships and projects.
Activities by Region
We are proud to celebrate our employees' exceptional dedication to Corporate Social Responsibility this year by highlighting some remarkable initiatives from across the globe:
United Arab Emirates
CSR Day
In May, we hosted our highly anticipated CSR Day at Aventura Parks, the largest nature park in Dubai, marking the centerpiece of our year’s Corporate Social Responsibility efforts. For one inspiring afternoon, colleagues from TMT, Public Sector, and FTICA set aside project work to come together as one team, focusing on the planet and making a positive impact.
The event blended education, fun, and teamwork, with activities ranging from racing over a climbing wall to collaborative challenges, all designed to raise awareness about environmental issues and sustainability. The highlight of the day came after the activities when over 50 colleagues came together to plant a tree—a symbolic act of unity and commitment to environmental preservation.
This unique experience not only strengthened our bond as a team but also reinforced our shared commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Clothing drive
Throughout the Spring season, the Dubai office organized a clothing donation campaign. Employees generously contributed used clothing to Thrift for Good, a non-profit organization committed to making a difference. The donated items raised over 5,500 AED, with 100% of the proceeds supporting the Raey School in Ethiopia. This initiative combined sustainability and social impact, giving pre-loved clothing a new purpose while directly contributing to the education of children in need.
Ramadan packing
During Ramadan this year, the Dubai office team partnered with SmartLife Foundation. The team packed and distributed Iftar meals and care packages to more than 750 local workers. These workers, who endure long and challenging shifts while fasting, received the packages as a gesture of relief and appreciation during the holy month. This initiative highlighted our commitment to fostering compassion and giving back to those in need, especially during a time dedicated to reflection, gratitude and togetherness.
Beach yoga and clean-up
To take advantage of the colder months in Dubai, the team organized an invigorating morning yoga session at Kite Beach. This initiative went beyond promoting wellness; it was also a meaningful step toward environmental sustainability. The team's participation directly funded efforts to clean the beach, with a particular focus on removing harmful microplastics from its pristine sands.
Toy drive
During December, the Dubai office organized a successful end-of-year toy drive in partnership with Hope Amel, aiming to support families in need across the UAE. Over two weeks, the initiative resulted in the donation of 66 presents, ensuring that more children could experience the joy of receiving gifts during the festive season.
Holiday book exchange
To close out the year, we embraced the spirit of conscious giving with a Holiday Book Exchange, reflecting our commitment to CSR and sustainability. Instead of purchasing traditional gifts for Secret Santa, team members were encouraged to share books from their own collections that had inspired them. This thoughtful initiative not only fostered a sense of connection and shared learning but also promoted sustainability by giving pre-loved books a new purpose and reducing waste and consumerism during this time of the year.
Singapore
Lunar New Year recycling drive for the Salvation Army
In February, the Singapore team conducted a meaningful donation drive supporting the Salvation Army. Over four weeks around the Lunar New Year, the initiative gathered 100kg of contributions, filling five large boxes with 200 clothing items, 10 toy sets, and various bags and shoes. Delivered to a Salvation Army outlet, the effort demonstrated the teams’ shared commitment to bringing joy and support to those in need.
Homeless shelter cleaning
In April, the Singapore office volunteered at the Catholic Welfare Services (CWS) Gift of Joy Shelter. This facility provides temporary accommodation for 16 rough[1] sleepers and two families of four, aiding their transition to long-term housing. The team contributed by cleaning and redecorating the shelter while raising awareness about homelessness in Singapore, emphasizing the power of community service in driving positive change.
Zoo excursion for children with special needs
In August, the team partnered with Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities (THKMC) for a fun-filled morning at the Singapore Zoo. The team guided families, facilitated games, and planned activities for 84 children with special needs. THKMC supports over 55,000 beneficiaries through 70 programs in Disability, Early Intervention, Family, Seniors’ Community, and Therapy Services, reflecting its far-reaching impact.
Foodbank warehouse packing
Last but not least, in December the Singapore team wrapped up the year by volunteering at The Food Bank Singapore, which sources and rescues food for community distribution. The team supported by picking and packing donated food items for an Old Folk’s Home in Singapore. This initiative not only fostered team bonding but also raised awareness about food security in Singapore, underlining the importance of collective efforts in tackling this critical issue.
United States
Park clean-up
For the third consecutive year, the New York team proudly participated in a park clean-up and painting event. This year, 20 volunteers joined forces to repaint the perimeter and interior fences of DeWitt Clinton Park in Manhattan. Their efforts helped revitalize this cherished community space, contributing to the enhancement of their New York neighborhood. The team had a wonderful time giving back and is already looking forward to continuing this meaningful tradition next year!
Soup kitchen volunteering
In November, the New York team partnered with God’s Love We Deliver, an organization dedicated to providing medically tailored meals to individuals living with severe illnesses who cannot shop or cook for themselves. The team in the New York office volunteered their time to support this impactful mission, assisting in preparing and packaging meals and contributing directly to the organization’s efforts to nourish and care for vulnerable members of our community.
Thanksgiving food drive
In November, the New York team partnered with City Harvest, New York’s largest food rescue organization, to address food insecurity in the city.
The New York team contributed non-perishable food items to a collection bin onsite. Donations included essentials such as canned fruit, peanut butter, and soups, among others. All collected items were delivered to a nearby fire station, which facilitated their distribution to City Harvest. In total, the team donated 152 food items, weighing an impressive 100 pounds.
Spain
Beach clean-up
In collaboration with a local NGO, the Barcelona team participated in a beach clean-up initiative. Meticulously sorting recyclable materials to maximize environmental impact and engaging in an educational session about pollution, gaining valuable insights into long-term sustainability practices.
Food drive
Ahead of the festive season, the Barcelona team partnered with local organizations to conduct a food drive. The team donated food and funds, enabling the creation and distribution of essential food baskets to vulnerable communities across the region, helping to address food shortages during a critical time of year.
Clothes drive
The team launched a clothing drive this year, encouraging employees to donate used clothes. Over several weeks, we collected a substantial volume of garments that were distributed to those in need, providing not just essential clothing.
Valencia flooding donations
In response to the recent devasting rain disaster in Valencia, our team encouraged donations to organizations eligible for matching donations from FTI Consulting in support of the ongoing relief efforts.
South Africa
Vegetable garden project
The Johannesburg office collaborated with a local primary school to support their vegetable garden initiative. The team donated gardening equipment and vegetable seeds to assist the garden manager in cultivating and maintaining the garden. Additionally, the team visited the school to learn more about their broader biodiversity project.
Slipper Day initiative
In support of the Reach for a Dream Foundation's Slipper Day initiative, the Johannesburg office participated by wearing slippers and purchasing stickers to help raise funds. This initiative provided support to children battling life-threatening illnesses.
Mandela Day contribution
To honor Mandela Day and celebrate Nelson Mandela’s enduring legacy, the Johannesburg team supported a garden cleaning project at a CANSA (Cancer Association of South Africa) care home.
Christmas donation
The Johannesburg office actively contributed to the Santa Shoebox project, a heartfelt initiative that brings joy to children from underprivileged communities across South Africa. Our team came together to prepare and donate personalized Christmas gift boxes, filled with essential items, toys, and treats. These thoughtful packages were designed to make a meaningful difference, spreading holiday cheer, and showing our commitment to uplifting local communities.
