Building My Career at FTI Delta: A Look at My First Months
Joining FTI Delta
I’m Faris Alhaidari, and I joined FTI Delta following the completion of my Software Engineering degree from King Saud University (KSU) in Riyadh. My journey with the firm began when I attended an event hosted by FTI Delta at my university, where I had the opportunity to learn more about the company and connect with professionals—many of whom are now my colleagues. This experience solidified my interest in the firm and set the stage for my transition into consulting.
Starting My Journey
My journey with the company began with an intensive training week in Dubai. This structured onboarding experience provided an excellent opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the company, its culture, and its way of working. It also allowed me to connect with many professionals across different offices, as well as my fellow new joiners. The sessions during this week were insightful and helped us transition smoothly into our roles, ensuring that we were well-prepared to contribute effectively from the outset.
During that first week, I also learned that I would be joining my first project—a telecom industry engagement. Immediately after training, I was onboarded onto the project, where I met my team and began working from the client site.
Project Experience and Professional Growth
My first project introduced me to a dynamic and diverse team, with colleagues from various backgrounds and nationalities. This diversity enriched my experience, exposing me to different perspectives and working styles. I had the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks that helped me develop a strong understanding of the industry and enhance my analytical and problem-solving skills.
A key highlight of my experience has been the mentorship and guidance from colleagues at different levels—from managers to principals and senior managing directors. Their support has played a crucial role in accelerating my learning curve, refining my technical skills, and strengthening my communication and problem-solving abilities. The experience has also enhanced my ability to navigate complex business environments, engage with stakeholders, and think critically about challenges and opportunities.
The Riyadh Office and Its Growth
FTI Delta’s Riyadh office is located in KAFD (King Abdullah Financial District), one of the most prominent business hubs in the city. As Riyadh continues to develop into a major financial and commercial center, KAFD stands as a symbol of this transformation—bringing together leading firms, world-class infrastructure, and a vibrant business ecosystem. Being based in such a strategic location enhances our ability to engage with key stakeholders and contribute to the region’s evolving business landscape.
The office itself is growing, with an increasing number of professionals joining the team. This expansion reflects both the firm’s commitment to the Saudi market and the broader growth of the industry in the region. I look forward to not only witnessing this growth but also actively contributing to it—playing a role in shaping the office’s future and supporting its continued success in the country.
